Hi Guys. Im using the demo version to assess if I can use our MC35 GSM terminal to recieve MMS pictures. So far, im getting the Binary SMS notifications and NOWSMS is connecting to http://193.113.161.1:8002/longdigitstringhere then i get Connect failed for 193.113.161.1 Im using the computers NIC to connect to the MMS Server URL (mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002) as ive heard the 02 server will accept internet connections. do i need another modem to create a GPRS connection instead? any help much appreciated. regards | |||

Hi David, It is VERY unlikely that the mobile operator MMSC would be accessible over the internet. Also, most operator MMSCs include checks when a message is downloaded to verify that it is being downloaded by the phone that it was sent to. Configure NowSMS to use GPRS via the MC35 to retrieve the MMS messages. Note that to do this, you need to have a Windows modem driver configured for the modem, and have NowSMS configured to use that named driver instead of going direct to the COM port. I know that the MC35 doesn't have a Windows modem driver, so just manually install the "Standard 33600 bps Modem" driver that is built into Windows. (Go into "Phone and Modem Options" in the Control Panel ... select "Add Modem", and tell Windows not to detect the modem, but that you will pick it from a list.) -bn |
