When sending an SMS message via a GSM modem, it is not possible to override the sender address of the SIM card in the modem. This is a limitation of sending messages via a GSM modem. There is no place in the protocol to specify a sender address. As the message is routed through the operator SMSC (to which the SIM in the modem is subscribed), the operator SMSC will always apply the phone number associated with that SIM card to the outbound message. -- Des NowSMS Support |
