Hi Ram,

Are you able to successfully send SMS with this device?

What device are you using?

Usually this error means that the data connection is being refused by the operator...the most probable reasons:

1.) MMS not enabled for SIM. To verify this is not the issue, pitt the SIM into a phone that is configured for that operator and verify that the phone can send and receive MMS using the SIM from the modem.

2.) incorrect GPRS APN configured on the NowSMS side. What operator are you using, and what settings for that operator have you configured in NowSMS?

3.) Some modems, especially Sierra Wireless modems, include software that is preconfigured to cause the modem to make a data connection. This error can be returned if other software has an active data connection over the modem. Disable any modem software that might be automatically establishing a data connection.

If problems persist, to troubleshoot this further, I would like to see a screenshot of the MMSC Routing definition you have defined. Use the test connection button on that screen. This will alonso generate an MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG file, which contains more info about NowSMS interaction with the modem.

Hi Des,

Thanking you for your reply. Please find the bellow points for your refrence

1. Are you able to successfully send SMS with this device? Yes

2. What device are you using? Wavecom FastTrack modem (CE0165)

3.) MMS not enabled for SIM. To verify this is not the issue, pitt the SIM into a phone that is configured for that operator and verify that the phone can send and receive MMS using the SIM from the modem.

SIM is working fine with phone to send and receive MMS.

4.) incorrect GPRS APN configured on the NowSMS side. What operator are you using, and what settings for that operator have you configured in NowSMS?

We rae using INDIA-Idea Operator and we have posted the configuration image and log file in preavious post.

5.) Some modems, especially Sierra Wireless modems, include software that is preconfigured to cause the modem to make a data connection. This error can be returned if other software has an active data connection over the modem. Disable any modem software that might be automatically establishing a data connection.

Wavecome modem and other software/devices are disables to use this modem.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Ram,

It does appear that your settings are correct.

I've done a little more research and initially I had given you general pointers that apply to any of the "RasDial" errors, as the error numbers generated by Windows are frequently meaningless in this particular error.

However, the 692 error is somewhat different. Microsoft refers to it as a hardware failure (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314846). Suggestions for dealing with the problem include checking the serial cable, serial port, handshaking options for the modem, and even the modem hardware itself.

I've done a little searching through our forums here, and I've also searched GSM modem related forums.

Unfortunately, this particular error rarely sees a solution other than the hardware suggestions above, and a recommendation to remove the modem driver and then re-add it.

What I'm going to suggest is that you troubleshoot this issue outside of NowSMS. Here's how you do this.

Stop/Remove any NowSMS services (UNcheck "run as service").

In the Phone & Modem area of the Windows control panel, find your modem.

Go to the "Advanced" tab and for "Extra Initialization Commands" enter:

AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","mmsc"

(include the quotes in the above string)

Press "OK" to save these settings.

Next, go to the "Network and Sharing Center" in the Windows control panel. Look for "Connect to" or "Connect to a network".

There should be an existing entry created by NowSMS titled "NowSMS - Standard 33600bps Modem".

Try connecting to it.

I'm expecting this to generate the same error ... does it?
