Hi Des

Reference this thread:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/41962.html

The "+" is not getting set/displayed on the mobile handset (Android 2.3.3). The MMS is displayed with the senders mobile number minus the + sign.

Following MMSC settings:

MSISDNHeaderDefaultCountryCode is not set

MSISDNHeaderPrefixConvert=44:+44
MSISDNHeaderConvertToLocalNumber=Yes

Any suggestions? I need the + sign to get displayed. Want International Format.

Thanks once again.

Hi Sam,

You are explicitly defining users right?

If so, you need to explicitly define the phone number in the "MMSC User" account to include the "+".

The other setting is more applicable for configurations where user accounts are being dynamically provisioned.

Hi Des

Yes manually created the user. Phone number is in international format. Still the + sign doesnt come

So i dont require the mdisdnheader settings at all right?

Any pointers or this might be an android issue?

Hi Sam,

I think it may be just an Android issue.

I notice on an Android handset that if I send an SMS or MMS to the handset, and the sender address is not in the address book, Android displays the sender address in local number format, without the "+".

If the Android user replies back, it looks like Android does put the "+" back when sending the reply.

You'd have to look at the MMSC-YYYYMMDD.LOG to see what the recipient address format is to verify. It will show you whether or not the "+" is present.

I'm confident that the "+" is in the sender address if it is in the phone number associated with the user account.

Hi Des

Indeed!!!!!! The MMSC log does have the + present. Strange thing is that i do have the sender address in the address book..but its stored as a local number (with the 0 prefix)

I really hope and pray that google fixes this bugs with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich release.

Thanks once again for your time. Highly appreciated.

Sam
