Hi
I’m use Now SMS 2014.12.12.

I try to receive MMS using the Now SMS to the mobile phone(Mobile Model name: LG G3 Vigor)
When I enable Group Messaging function in the handset, sender is wrong.

I input the information in the “Send MMS Message” of Now SMS web page

To: 25000287
From: 1234
Subject: 5678

And I attach the picture using the Contents File tab.
And then I enter the submit button.
When I receive the MMS, sender is displayed 25000287, 1234.
To(25000287) information is displayed to the sender in the handset.

When I disable Group Messaging function in the handset, sender is displayed 1234.

After activating the Group messaging, I send MMS Message from mobile to mobile.
At this time, sender is ordinarily displayed.

Why group messaging function is activated, sender is wrong?

Hi Johnny,

Apologies for the delay in response. I'm having difficulty understanding what you are describing.

I think I understand ... but I have to make some guesses that may not be correct.

First I assume you are using NowSMS in a "Direct Delivery" MMSC configuration, where NowSMS is acting as an MMSC to deliver MMS messages direct to the handset.

Second, I assume that you are operating in a test lab type of environment.

What you are describing sounds like a normal group message. The Android messages app, when displaying a group message, shows the members of the group as the sender address in conversation view. When you open the conversation, it shows who sent each individual message in the conversation.

The confusion is that you are not sending a group message. So why would the handset think it is?

My best guess is that the handset sees a "To" recipient of 25000287, but does not realize that is its own device phone number. Therefore it thinks it is being BCC'd on a group message between 1234 and 25000287.

Hi

Your assumption is correct.

I operate test mobile network in the lab and I configure MMSC Routing "Direct Delivery" in the Now SMS.

I send a mms using the Now SMS.

To: 25000287
From: 1234
Subject: 5678

- disable group message function in the handset.

- enable group message function in the handset.

after activating group message function in the handset, when I send and receive the mms message from handset to handset, sender is correct.

Do you guess that this problem solve mobile phone side not now sms?

Yes, I think the problem is in the phone side, but specific to the testing environment.

When you send the example message, the resulting MMS message has the following headers:

From: 1234/TYPE=PLMN
To: 25000287/TYPE=PLMN

The messaging client does not think that 25000287 is associated with the device, so it thinks it is being BCC'd on a group message.

If you go into Settings/About Phones/Status, what phone number is shown?
