Hi This is old story( twelve years ago ^^ ) As describe on the folowing topics, we wanted to allow our subscribers to send an MMS to France using the national numerotation. https://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/22587.html in fact Reunion island has got his own Country code ( +262 ) but we are french so subscriber should not have to put the french country code to send MMS ( using +33 ). But on our configuration, when you try to send an MMS like 06xxxxxxxx, mms will change it to +262 6xxxxx. So few year ago , a workaround had been describe using the msisdnrecipientprefix convert [MMSC] header: MSISDNRecipientPrefixConvert=+26261:+3361,+26262:+3362,+26263:+3363,+26264:+3364 ,+26265:+3365,+26266:+3366,+26267:+3367,+26268:+3368,+262691:+33691,+262694:+336 94,+262695:+33695,+262696:+33696,+262697:+33697,+262698:+33698,+262699:+33699 could we use it in order to convert the +266xx into +336xxxx ? we have got the version 2017.04.07 thanks for your reply. Hi Marc, If I understand the previous discussion correctly...the only local numbers in Reunion were 0692xxxxxx (+262) Other 06xxxxxxxxx numbers were assumed to be in France (+33) When NowSMS converts numbers to international format, it is converting 0 as a local prefix, so 0xxxxxxxx becomes +262xxxxxxxx The conversion list essentially remaps +2626* (06*) to +336*, EXCEPT for +262692* (0692*), which is left as is. Can you provide an example of additional or alternate conversions needed? -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi Des , let me explain exactly the situation. Reunion ISland is an overseas department from France but we have got our own country code, and the mobile numerotation is always the same. Mobile number are +262 692 xxxxxx or +262 693 xxxxxx in international format and could be 0692 or 0693 in national format. when we call , or send a sms to france, we can address with the international code +33 6yyyyyyyy or in national format like 06yyyyyyyyy. on our case , as the local is +262, when we send a MMS to France , subscriber can send it to 06yyyyyyyy but MMSC add the country code of Reunion +262 6yyyyyyyy. This MMS going nowhere because the country code and the number are not compliant with any networks. The solution describe by Bryce twelve years ago was ok , if a subcriber send an MMS to national format 06yyyyyyyy ( yy being different from 92 or 93 because it is national number in reunion island ) , MMSC will change it to +262 6yyyyyyyy then the conversion list will convert it to +33 6yyyyyyyy. in this way , the MMS will be well routed. The workaround was ok , but twelve years ago , it hadn't been implemented yet, so the question is more if the feature had been finally included on the version above 2007 and if it is working properly. Thanks beforehand for your advices , Br Marc

Hi Marc, I understand. Yes, the feature is definitely implemented, and quite widely used, as there are many type of situations where unusual number conversions are required. -- Des NowSMS Support |
