Bryce, etc

I have dumped the Nokia 6310 and got hold of a Nokia 30 modem - I am trying to receive OTA settings through it to debug them - problem is that although the smsc says they have been delivered they never arrive.

Can you please point out what else I have to do to get the binary messages to appear in /SMS-IN

I have done the following:

in SMSC Tab - have select connection, clicked properties and ticked receive sms messages and set the message store to default

- I have left process 2 received messages unticked on the 2-way tab

Is there anything else I need to do?

Yours

Simon

Hi Simon,

Apologies for the delay, but I'm not sure that I understand your questions.

For best results with the Nokia 30, set the "SMS Message Storage" to "Direct to Modem".

What I'm not clear on is whether you are sending the settings from NowSMS back to your modem ... or if you are sending the settings from an external service to the modem and simply trying to receive them via NowSMS.

In either case, I don't know why some settings would be received, and others would not be. If you are sending the settings via an external service, the service might have limits to how many OTAs it will send to a particular phone number over a given period of time (to prevent abuse).
