Hi I use paid version of NowSMS Modem Edition to send sms using replacement type 1 but it didn't work. The replacement sms didn't replace the first one. Could you take a look at my attachment file to see the settings and test result. Please tell me how to make the replacement sms work as it should.

Hi, This setting encodes a TP-PID attribute for the message. This attribute is not supported by some SMSC connection types, and may not be supported by some service providers. For SMPP, UCP/EMI and CIMD2, NowSMS will transmit PID, but it is then dependent on whether the SMS service provider supports it. The Android modem interface will not support this attribute. The USB/serial modem interface will support this attribute, however, some mobile operators will remove it (presumably because some other TP-PID values are potential security risks, so they are overprotective). If you try it with a GSM modem, try sending from NowSMS to the modem's own number. Then check the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG and SMSIN-yyyymmdd.LOG...the OUT will show PID=xx...if the IN also shows it, then the network does allow it. Note that when sending cross-operator, the other operator might also remove. -bn Bryce Norwood Now SMS/MMS Support

Thanks for your support, I changed to use GSM modem and it worked fine. Can we replace the message and keep the original receive time? example: I send a first message at 09h:00 and send replacement message at 09h30, can we keep the receive time on recipient is 09h00 instead of 09h30? Thank you,

Hi, That time value is known as the SCTS (service centre time stamp). It is set by the processing SMSC. There is no way to set or override this value when submitting a message. -bn Bryce Norwood Now SMS/MMS Support

Can I replace the message and change the time of the replacement message? For example: I send the first message at 10:00 and send a replacement message at 11:20, can I change the time for the replacement message to 10:00? |
