There are a variety of factors that can come into play here ... When you send an MMS message using direct MMS delivery, what happens is that the MMS content is stored on the gateway, and the gateway sends an MMS notification message out to the recipient device. That notification includes a URL pointer for connecting back to the gateway from the mobile in order to retrieve the content. Therefore, the "Local Host Name or IP Address" that is configured in the "MMSC" page of the configuration dialog must be a valid host name that can be used for an external device (such as the mobile phone) to connect back to the gateway. Check that first. Next, check the issues described in the following document: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/quickstartguide/Send_an_MMS_Message.htm As you work through the issues in that document, you may experience that your mobile operator blocks MMS messages from external MMSCs. In that case, the only solutions are: 1.) Change the MMS settings in the mobile phone to point to a different GPRS APN and WAP Gateway IP which will allow connections to external MMSCs (not always a practical solution). Usually, the standard GPRS APN and WAP Gateway used for the WAP browser settings will work here. 2.) Use an alternative to MMS such as the "WAP Multimedia Push" functionality. 3.) Configure NowSMS to send MMS messages through the operator MMSC. In the v5.0 release, this can be done through the "MMSC Routing" dialog. Here are some discussion threads that discuss this feature: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/585.html http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/589.html And the documentation for this feature: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm ... You also mention wanting to be able to receive MMS with the gateway. Please note that in order to do that, you will need a dedicated GSM modem device. Using a GSM phone as a modem, it is generally not possible to receive MMS with the gateway. More information on receiving MMS can be found here: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/2_way_mms_support.htm |
