Hi, I have tried this Validity param and it didn't work for me, has anyone tried this before? Here's how I did for testing I turned my flight-mode on, set the sms to 1 minute, sent the message. About 10 minutes later, I turned the flight-mode off, after a minute or two, I got the message ! Here is the command I used http://123.123.123.123:8800/?PhoneNumber=%2Bxxxxxxxxxx&text=hello-at-5:51&Validi ty=1M | |||

Hi, I've posted some more information about the validity period here: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/13536.html http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/10824.html I just cross reference those threads for the purpose of future searches, as I don't think any of the information there will answer your specific question. Basically, NowSMS only supports the "&Validity=" parameter when messages are sent via a GSM modem (NowSMS 2006 will also support it for SMPP). However, this setting will only work if your operator SMSC supports it ... and in our limited testing, many do not. So before relying on this setting, you need to test it to see whether or not your mobile oeprator supports it. I should also mention that the minimum value for the validity period in the GSM modem protocol is 5 minutes. So NowSMS will round up to the next 5M interval. (1M will get encoded as 5M when the message is submitted to the SMSC.) -bn |
