Hi,

I am trying to develop an application to send Picture Messages to mobile phones from PC.
I have installed the Trial Version of Nowsms for that.
I have got a Nokia 12 M2M Terminal Attached to my PC.
I would like to set up the GSM Modem configuration for the nowsms Gateway.
but the nowsms gateway couldn't recognize any modem in my PC after clicking the "ADD" button.
(The Add Modem screen just comes with "COM1:" for "Select Available Modem").
The Nokia 12 is connected to the COM1 of my system.
I couldnt get any Driver for the Nokia 12 (if there is one please give to link to it).
My doubt is , cant a Nokia 12 M2M Terminal act as a GSM Modem.
Please give some information.
Thanks

Hi,

For the SMS functionality, you can direct NowSMS to just use COM1: directly.

But for the MMS functionality, you do need to have a Windows modem driver installed. You can go into "Phone & Modem Options" in the Windows control panel, and manually add a modem definition using the "Standard 33600 bps Modem Driver". (The modem driver doesn't need to know anything about GSM/GPRS, it is just to tell Windows the basics for how to talk to the modem.)

If you install a modem driver, use the named modem driver from the NowSMS "SMSC" list instead of "COM1:". (This will avoid confusion when you configure the MMS connectivity over GPRS.)
