My local operator provides only SMPP over Frame Relay connection to the SMSC. Is this supported by NowSMS. If not, whats the workaround? Is it in the roadmap? | |||

Hi, Apologies for the delay getting back to you. A frame relay connection is just another term for what is essentially a private TCP/IP connection. So rather than connecting to them using TCP/IP over the internet, you are connecting to them using TCP/IP over a frame relay connection. From a NowSMS perspective, there is no difference, except that the connection is likely to be faster and support higher messaging throughput (which is good). Many mobile operators do require that you use a secure private connection to their SMSC, so this is not all that unusual. I've seen a lot more requiring VPN connections lately, as that is a cheaper alternative to frame relay ... but it is definitely not as fast. -bn |
