Hi
I use nowsms v5.0 to mms (1 smil + 1 image + 1 sound + 1 text).
Today we have received two nokia 6600. when i put "enable dynamic image + audio conversion", the nokia doesn't display neither text neither image and they don't appear in the objects list.
When we don't use dynamic conversion, the problem is solved.
Could you tell me what is the problem ?
Thanks

Hi Michael,

Apologies for the delay in responding back to you.

I use a Nokia 6600 as my regular phone, and I've never seen this setting cause a problem.

Is it possible that the PC running NowSMS does not have direct internet access? If so, there can be a problem in that the first time a new mobile phone connects to retrieve an MMS, NowSMS tries to download the UAProf file from the phone over the internet. (The phone transmits a URL for its UAProf file in the HTTP header that it sends to the MMSC. The first time NowSMS sees a reference to a new UAProf file, it tries to download it.) And if the PC is on a private network, it can take a couple of minutes before this download attempt times out. Usually in this case, however, this causes the download to time out on the phone (but as the 6600 is using direct HTTP, perhaps it does not detect the timeout error and instead displays a blank message).

Try enabling the MMSCDEBUG.LOG. You do this by manually editing MMSC.INI, and adding Debug=Yes under the [MMSC] section header. Then restart the MMSC service.

Post an excerpt of the log with the 6600 connecting in to your system with content conversion enabled, and we'll take a look.

Especially since I use a 6600 without any problems, my best guess is the problem mentioned above.

Hi Thanks for answer. I have solved the problem. I had forgotten the following lines in my smil file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE smil PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD SMIL 2.0//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/2001/SMIL20/SMIL20.dtd">
<smil xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/SMIL20/Language">
Now, it works perfectly

Sorry for my post in the wrong thread.
When nowsms uses the profil for the 6600, it's doesn't worked. Now i have copy and rename the file for the 3650 and it works.
See the attachment in debug mode.

Michael,

That is interesting. I'm curious what is occurring.

Is it possible for you to ZIP up the files that you are sending in that MMS? I'll send them to my Nokia 6600 and see what happens.
