Hi,

This is not really related to NOWSMS but I figured people here might know something about this.

My carrier keeps blocking my messages, meaning after they find out that I use it at a high rate (about 300 msgs a day for a week), I lose the ability to send messages. Outgoing messages stay in the Q directory until it becomes an .ERR file. Also, incoming messages do not even get received by my modem (blocking is done in the SMSC).

I use my setup for delivering messages to an opt-in list. I could get a short code but it is very expensive and an overkill for my setup.

Any ideas on how I can get around it? At present, I just replace the sim cards and wait until the same thing happens again. The difference on subsequent blockings is that it didn't last several days. The SMSC blocks my messages after 1 day.

How does my carrier figure out my new sim # and block it? Is it purely the amount of messages I sent that triggers this blocking or is it something else.

I appreciate any input as it will help me play this game my carrier is playing. My carrier is Telcel in Mexico.

I appreciate any help. Thanks.
RS

Some thoughts...

Do the accounts have limits on the number of texts allowed? Could you be running out of crdits?

Might you have a trap number that got planted on your list, where any messages sent to this number get you on a blocked list. (This is common for spam blocking in the email world.)

What is the error code returned?
