I am sending an SMS to my Nokia 6600 device using MessageConnection. I have also implemented Push Methodology and that is working on emulator. But the device is not starting the MIDlet on receiving the message.

I'm sorry, but I have no experience in this area, so I cannot offer you any advice.

Perhaps someone else will offer comment.

Hi Salman. I am just planning to do the exactly same thing as you did. Since it worked on emulator, I guess the problem might be caused by the SMPP version that SMSc is using. I am going to test this on Rogers AT&T. If that is not the same carrier you are using, probably we can find something.

BTW, I am still looking for some way to send SMS with a specific port number. Since I do not use a GSM Modem, Simplewire Java SMS SDK seems to be a good choice. But I can find a way to set the port number. Could you please help me out?

Advice on sending to a particular port number:

Also, just so this thread doesn't confuse anyone, there are no problems with NowSMS sending a push message to a Nokia 6600. I am just not familiar with the method in which the original poster is attempting to send an SMS message, as it does not appear to be related to NowSMS.
