Hi, Please, I will like to know the necessary parameters to set in the SMPP logica library in order to send a wap push to a mobile phone. Also, I will to know the necessary fields to set in the SMPP configuration in the advanced setting tab. Do I need to check the TLV parameter options? What else do I need to check? Also, in order to send a message to a particular port to a midlet listening on a phone, what are the necessary things to set up in the advanced tab? Whenever I make a GSM modem my SMSC, I am always able to send message to a port, however, when I connect thru an SMPP to my GSM operator (the same operator my modem is connected to thru normal GSM antenna), the message do not always go to the apt port. Why is this and how do I set up my smpp API to send to a port. Note: Even from a web interface, I cant send to a port when connecting thru SMPP but it works thru a GSM Modem or Mobile Phone. | |||

Hi,
There is no "one solution" here. It depends on your provider. Different SMS providers handle things different ways. Before you worry about sending a WAP push from an SMPP client ... make sure that you can send one from the NowSMS web interface first. If you cannot, then you may want to experiment with "Advanced Settings", such as "Use TLV parameters for port numbers and segmentation". (By default, NowSMS generates GSM UDH, which tends to work better with most providers. But your provider might want the TLV parameters to be set instead of GSM UDH.) -bn |
