Hi, Can someone let know which particular models of the gsm modem/phone combination to use for sending and receiving an sms on a custom port? Want to use nowsms for sending sms and a J2ME app is receing sms on a port. thanks in advance. | |||

If you want to use a phone as a modem, then my only recommendation is that you avoid Motorola phones, as most Motorola phones have a bug in their GSM modem interface which prevents them from sending any SMS messages that includes a user data header (UDH). And the port information is encoded in the user data header. If you have to use a phone as a modem, most SonyEricsson and Nokia phones support a GSM modem interface ... however most of the newer Nokia phones can be used for sending only (not receiving). | |||
