Hi,

I have 3 GSM modems connected in the gateway. I send SMS by URL parameter, and i set sender=modem1. Fine! it send the SMS fine by modem1.

I need forever send SMS with Modem1, but.. ONLY If modem1 fails, i need that the SMS be switched acutomatically to send with modem2 or modem3.

I dont know how to do this. u can help me please.

Any idea?

Hi,

There is no fail-over option.

There is only the option that multiple modems can service the same route simultaneously (so that if one fails, the other can continue to work).

To accomplish this with sender-based routing (like you are using with the sender=modem1 parameter), configure the "Phone Number" for both modems on a particular route to be the same. That way, NowSMS will route the message to either modem.

Hi,

You do not have to be connected to the internet.

127.0.0.1 is a "loopback" address ... a type of built-in alias ... which means to connect to a server running on the same machine.

You could also connect to http://localhost:8800 (localhost is pre-defined in the HOSTS file to resolve to 127.0.0.1).
