For business application we need phone IMEI, this to automatic identify which phonemodel is used. User can dial *#06# which will show him/her IMEI, which again can be send to our system. BUT is it technical possible to retieve that same IMEI from a SMS ? Regards Ronny | |||

Hi Ronny, I'm sorry, but the answer is No. The actual SMS that is sent over the air does not include any such information. I'm not even sure that it is technically possible to retrieve this information ... if it is possible, you would need to have a very close relationship with your mobile operator (and you might only be able to get this information for subscribers on their own network). If you want to identify the model number of the phone, the only way that I am aware of is to send a clickable URL to the phone, so that the user can click on the link, and you can then usually get their phone model based upon the "User-Agent:" header that is sent to your server when the URL is requested. -bn | |||
