We would like to get some info regarding CIMD delivery reports. Is it implemented in your existing system? If so could we receive a tutorial about how to get asynchronus delivery reports? If not, would you be able to implement something like that on a custom basis for our company? Who do we need to contact in order to get such info? The issue is rather crucial to us, as we need to count our sms bassed on whether they are actually delivered to the mobile handset. Many thanks in advance | |||

Hi Nikos, We currently support delivery receipts for SMPP and GSM modem environments (when supported by the provider). And we have some support for delivery receipts in UCP/EMI environments (converting the receipts into SMPP format). But we do not have any support for delivery receipts in CIMD environments. I don't think it would be difficult for us to implement, if we basically converted the receipts to SMPP format. (You don't have to receive them via SMPP, they can be routed to an HTTP callback.) I'm curious if that would work for you. Maybe you could explain a little bit more what you're trying to accomplish. Famous last words, but I don't think it would be very difficult to implement this support ... at least in the way that I'm envisioning. -bn | |||

Well, let me explain the case a bit more thoroughly We have connections via CIMD with one of our providers. The short codes we use are MT charged, which means that we get paid only by the sms that are actually delivered to the user. Thus we need to get delivery reports for any MT sms / wappush we send. We would like to receive these reports asynchronously, as soon as the sms is delivered to the user. Do you think something like this can be done? If so please let us know as this issue is crucial to us! | |||

Hi Nikos, We've performed a little more analysis on this. And I understand that you've also e-mailed Keith Norris about it. I think it is possible for us to add this capability. It may require some trial and error on your end, because we do not presently have access to a CIMD provider that returns delivery reports. Is it possible for you to setup a test system on your end with a CIMD connection to your provider? If yes, then we can send you a test version that allows this capability to be enabled for CIMD environments. We'd want you to then run a few tests and send us back some debug logs to confirm that it is all working properly. I'll contact Keith to get your details and try to follow-up via e-mail. -bn | |||

Ok thank you, Keith sent me an email and I replied about it, so we can continue through emails. Hopefully we can work together to find a solution which can then be included in your future NowSMS editions for anyone else who needs this!  | |||
