NowSMS, good day!

I have dual GSM modems configured on my NowSMSC GW. I have specific routes(consider them as default) associated to GSMModem#1. I added GSMModem#2 to support a specific SMS User(logging into the SMSC GW via smpp). Is there a way I can "force" all traffic submitted by this SMS User login to go out using GSMModem#2 - knowing that "default routes" for outbound sms are on GSMModem#1.

Now, I say "default routes" but I don't actually have [Support any outbound message traffic] checked. I have [Preferred SMSC Connection for:] established for: 1??????????,+1??????????, etc. However, SMS User is going to submit either 1+10 or +1+10 to SMSC GW, and I want that to go outbound via GSMModem#2.

The SMSC GW has the ability to route incoming (2-way) traffic from a SMSC Connection to a specific SMS User. I am looking for similar configuration for outbound traffic, assigning a SMS User to specific SMSC Connection.

Can anything be done to support this?

Hi Frank,

The easiest way to do this is to make sure that a "Phone Number" property is defined for each modem under its "Properties" in the "SMSC" list. (This setting is not read automatically.)

Then, for the SMS User account that you want to route via modem #2, edit the "SMS Users" property, and set the "Forced Sender Address" to match the "Phone Number" for modem #2.

There's some more description of these settings in the following post: http://blog.nowsms.com/2008/07/routing-sms-messages-to-specifc-smsc.html
