The modem likely wants a different technique to be used for receiving messages.

With a dedicated modem device, best results occur if under "Properties" of the modem in the "SMSC" list of NowSMS, you configure "SMS Message Storage" to be "Direct to Modem".

Hi,

We'd probably need to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG showing the message being received in order to understand this scenario.

Hi,

This is the support forum for the NowSMS product.

I'm not sure that the last question is related to NowSMS. If it is, please clarify your question.

I'm guessing that you are asking why the iTegno 3800 modem does not support AT+STSF and AT+STGI, which are SIM Toolkit related commands. I don't think those particular commands are defined in any industry standard ... I think they are proprietary, defined by Wavecom, who makes the chipset that goes into a lot of GSM modems.

Perhaps iTegno is no longer using the Wavecom chipset. Or perhaps Wavecom has a new lower end chipset with less functionality.

Or perhaps I am misunderstanding the question ...

hi,

thanks for the info.
yop i do think so that iTegno 3800 no longer use the Wavecom chipset.coz its predecessor 3000 still supports stsf/stgi commands.

thanks des...

Ken,

Out of curiosity ... if you issue the ATI0 command, does it mention what manufacturer chipset it is using?

It seems like Wavecom is losing marketshare with GSM modem manufacturers ... which is a shame ... not only for your loss of functionality, but in my opinion they seemed to be more stable.
