Hi Des, On many occasions I receive answers in binary, like these: __________________________________________________ 13:58:57,+542615683674,Binary,00700075006500640065006E0020006C006C0061006D00E100 6900200061006C002000340039003600340038003100300020006F00200061002000E90073007400 650020, 16:41:51,+542615172880,Binary,0048006F006C00610020006300720069007300740069006100 6E00200073006F00790020007200690063006100720064006F00200061006300E10020006C006500 200020006D0061006E00640061006E002000730061006C0075006400200061006C00200020006300 65006200610020006C00610020006D0069006B0061, __________________________________________________ I do not think that people respond in this way... do you has this happened before? Ramon, Des or Bryce would confirm (i can't decode raw PDU with bare eyes) - if these are with DCS F5 or F7 they are likely sent by the carrier and work with your SIM app, which you should disable. Please refer to my previous post. Kind regards, Ashot

Hi Ashot, These messages are not from the carrier. 13:58:57,+542615683674,Binary => +542615683674 is regular phone number. I am sure that this person sent a TXT message, but do not imagine that I get the message in binary format... Maybe coming from a PDA or blackberry. Tanks for your time, Best regards!

I forgot to clarify: I'm not categorize this as a problem. It is rather a question. regards

As I said it might be from a carrier if with DCS F5 or F7. Subscriber replies may look like binaries if from iDEN handsets. Ashot

Hi Ramon, The SMSIN log file doesn't record the DCS for some reason. However, I can tell from the data that this is a Unicode message. ... actually, it looks like you're using an older version. As I see in the logs on my test server, we do currently record the DCS value in the SMSIN log. Also, we now convert Unicode messages to UTF-8 text for the log files in NowSMS 2009. For older versions, I would point out that these Unicode messages are converted to text format when routed to a 2-way command. -- Des NowSMS Support |
