Hi. I have recently got hold of the SCMi250u GPRS Modem and i am trying to interface it with the nowSMS gateway. But when i try to add it through the SMSC tab i get an error saying that the MODEM DOES NOT SUPPORT SMS. Please help me at the earliest. - Sid} | |||

Hi Sid, I do not have any previous experience with that device. My suggestion would be to go into HyperTerminal, and open a connection to the COM port for that device. Type ATZ and press Enter, and it should response back with OK. We are trying to send the command AT+CSMS=0 to query if the modem supports SMS. And if we get an error back from that command, then we indicate that the modem does not support SMS. If the modem does not support this command, I am not sure what we can do. I am currently trying to download the manual for this device from the manufacturer's web site ... but it is painfully slow. -bn | |||
