Hi Cyril, What modem is this? The modem appears to be setting an invalid flag that is causing the sender number to be interpreted wrong. Can you post more examples of wrong sender addresses being received? Is the sender address ever decoded correctly for messages received on this modem? If yes, I'd like to see debug logs that show this too. We can probably develop a work-around to detect when this flag is set incorrectly. But we need to see more examples. Unfortunately that will take time to investigate further. Alternatively you may want to try a different modem brand that does not have this encoding bug. -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi Des, I've used 3 brand of modems, all have this problem. Nokia, Erisson, Huiwa. These 3 modems in other SMS programs have no such problem. The message using NowSMS after decode is correctly, only the sender number incorrect. However, as you'll see in the debug log, no all the sender address incorrect, some of them are OK. Attached the debug log for your reference. Thanks a lot for your help !

Hi Cyril, Ok. The message must be coming in from the network that way. The problem is that the type of number field indicates that the sender address type is reserved/undefined. NowSMS is mistakenly interpreting this reserved type as alphanumeric. I'm posting an update to http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsms20100604.zip that treats the reserved type as a numeric sender which should resolve this problem. -- Des NowSMS Support
