I have a little problem when I try to send several messages over 115 characters. I think it's a problem with my carrier but maybe you can help me, I have no answers from my service provider.

Let me explain:

- Using NowSMS connected to several GSM modems for make BulkSMS. Handling large queues, with several numbers, at they all send the same message.
- Earlier SMS shipping speed was 8 SMS per minute for each modem no matter how many characters of each message.
- Lately whether messages have more than 115 characters sent an average of one message per minute or less (on occasion spend more than 5 minutes without being able to send a message.) While trying to forward a SMS the error message I get from the modem is "CMS ERROR 38 - Network out of order"
- If you send messages shorter than 115 caracters shipping is perfect, between 8 and 10 per minute and get no error.


Try setting smsgw.ini BinaryDCS = 4 and no change. The shipping speed is the same and the errors are the same.

Hi Ramon,

That is very strange.

What version of NowSMS are you running? Also, what modem(s) are you using? I do recall an issue where there was a problem sending longer messages on a particular modem because the USB modem driver was having a buffer overflow problem.

Are you running NowSMS v2008? (I saw this referenced in another thread.) If so, and you do not have an update agreement that allows you to install an update, I will try to get you an authorisation for an update. I think you may be facing this problem.

If you are running NowSMS 2009 or 2010, try editing SMSGW.INI and under the [SMSGW] header, add ModemMaxBytesPerSend=1

If you are running NowSMS 2008, then please send an e-mail to nowsms@nowsms.com with "Attention: Des" in the subject line. Let me know your serial number, installation reference code, and company details, so that I can get you authorised for an update to see if this addresses the problem you are experiencing.

Thank you for your prompt response.

The problem is with the TELCO service provider, if I change my service provider works fine. Just wanted to know if you ever happened something like this and if you knew how to fix it.

Moreover, once I see your answer I need remove this post. Not find a way to do it from my account options. Is this possible?

That is strange.

There is no way to delete messages here. We like to leave them as an archive for others to search through and find answers to questions. If there is sensitive data that needs to be removed from a post, please advise, and we will remove it.
