Happy new year
Our customer told me that email SSL option in OMA OTA setting menu was not work properly.
He complained that he choose SSL for Inbound and Outbound Mail Encryption but device received none or secure off.
I'm attaching Web page capture and captured packet to SMSC.
It includes service param value 465 and 995.
But I'm not sure what is right value for SSL option.
Please check this and explain it in detail.
application/octet-stream
OTA_capture.pcap (1.8 k)

What is the receiving phone in question?

I don't think that there is any standard defined by the OMA for specifying SSL/TLS encryption for a POP3, IMAP, or SMTP connection.

The SERVICE values of 993 (IMAP SSL), 995 (POP3 SSL) and 465 (SMTP SSL) are published in Nokia documentation.

It is possible that other manufacturers have developed their own parameters for defining this, and you would have to refer to any documentation published by the manufacturer for further information.

My best guess ... is that for POP3, you should change the "inbound mail server port" value to 995, which is the standard port assignment for POP3 with SSL. It is possible that the phone in question defaults to POP3 with SSL when this specific port number is used, instead of using the service value.
