Sir, I have configured NosSMS gateway on window's machine and i have enabled 2-way sms to send and receive messages. I am able to send message form the web page configured with now sms(eg http://127.0.0.1:8800/). But i am unable get access on received messages. I want to process the received message. I am using Nokia N93 mobile as a modem . In troubleshooting of 2-WaySMS i seen some Symbian phone list which does not support to receive message. I want to confirm my mobile which is Nokia N-93 does support this feature. I am also having other phone which is nokia6020 and it is Symbian phone so can i use this one.} | |||

Hi, The 6020 will probably work. The GSM modem implementation in Nokia phones does not support receiving SMS messages (send only supported) in any Series 60/Symbian version, and the same applies to Series 40 3rd edition and later. Series 40 3rd edition came out in late 2004 to early 2005. The Nokia 6020 was released in 2004, and the specs that I can find state that it is a Series 40 2nd edition device. So it should work. I also found a few old threads here where people were able to send/receive SMS using a Nokia 6020 as a GSM modem. These days, we usually recommend dedicated GSM modem devices as they tend to be more reliable (and have less restrictions) than using a phone as a modem. -- Des NowSMS Support |
