Hi,

We are experiencing a strange issue when testing SMS via the web interface.

All the messages fail with the cause "invalid source address", in the logs it appears that they are being sent from the IP that is sending to the web interface, not the actual IP of the server that NowSMS is on.

Why is this happening and what can be done to resolve this issue?

Regards

Hi Tim,

In SMPP the source address terminolgy refers to the message sender address, not the IP address. (NowSMS records the client IP in its logs, but this never gets sent via SMPP.)

You can set a "Default Sender Address" for the connection in the "Properties" for the connection, where you can also set whether or not overrides (other values) are allowed. The default web form always uses the default sender, but direct HTTP or SMPP submissions can allow override.
