Hello, We have setup a distributin list in nowsms web gui. What is the limit of the number of phone numbers we can add to the distribution group? We want ot add 300,000 numbers to 1 distribution group, is that possible? Also, if we add 300,000 numbers to 1 distrubution list, will speed be affected? Should we split those numbes upto different distrobution lists? We will be manually sending the messages to the distrobutin list manually through the nowsms web gui for now. Thanks, Blair | |||

Hi Blair, To reduce file I/O, NowSMS uses different logic when a message is sent to a large distribution list (> 10000 recipients). You will notice that the queue size does not accurately reflect the queued number of messages, because these messages are processed in a bulk queue and released in batches of 10000. Managing a large distribution list in the web UI is slow, but iit is just a text file, so I assume you will be generating it externally. (My regular performance test routines have lists of 150K, 300K, 900K and 1.5M, so every few weeks I find myself sending to these lists on test systems using the web interface.) -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
