We would like to use mobile phone as a modem because we also need to pick up calls when people call back asking for more information after receiving our SMS messages. This means that we want to keep sending and receiving more and more SMS messages while answering the calls at the same time. You can send SMS message while talking on your GSM mobile phone. Does anybody knows about a GSM 3G USB modem that has bluetooth or audio plug so that we can use a headset to answer calls ? | |||

Hi, I can't think of any USB modems with this capability. I do seem to recall some old modems that had headset jacks, but looking at the modems I have around the office, I don't see any. My advice would be to use call forwarding to forward inbound calls to another number. Move the SIM card from the modem to a phone temporarily. Then either send a dial string to activate call forwarding or use the menus on the phone to activate call forwarding. In most cases, you can activate call forwarding by dialing **21*phonenumber# Replace phonenumber with the number you want calls to be forwarded to (example **21*0123456789#) #21# is the dial string to cancel call forwarding.
