Hi,

For some reason NowSMS is converting some our SMS messages to Unicode, which is then forcing it to a two part message.

Is there some way I can configure NowSMS to treat all SMS messages as plain ASCII instead of trying to guess when it should be a Unicode message?

Hi Bill,

You need to avoid characters outside of the GSM character set, otherwise Unicode encoding must be used. There is one or more characters outside the GSM character set that is triggering the use of Unicode.

A table that shows the GSM characters can be found here: http://www.nowsms.com/long-sms-text-messages-and-the-160-character-limit

If you are unsure of which character is triggering the issue, please post some examples of the text of the messages.
