Hi,
I am trying to send a message like the ones often recieved which looks like a FLASH sms, but has the option to click OK, or cancel. And it sends the selection to a url.

Hi,

That sounds like a WAP Push Service Indication (SI) message.

Hi Des,

what I have been told it is OTA. The difference with the wap push is that it has the OK, or CANCEL button, and as it appears in your phone right as a FLASH sms, if you clikc OK, a code can execute, but not a referral a website. Some also refer to smartmessage, or SAT PUSH.

Here is an example:

That link refers to a SIM Toolkit application (commonly known as STK). The message is interacting with an application that is running on the SIM card. So it is quite a bit more involved than just sending a message with particular attributes.

I don't have any specific references to suggest, but search on SIM Toolkit and you should find numerous references. Just note that it is non-trivial, and the security requirements necessitate cooperation with the SIM card operator.
