hello,

i configured nowsms as smpp server to forward all smpp traffic to our client.
the problem here is that when i sent a unicode SMS from our plateform(our gw server), the SMS goes well and works fine (binary message with DCS=8 automatically set by nowsms).
but when our client sent a unicode message from his plateform, the SMS received looks like that "gd Π:,ΘΔCA$1w-Ñ9-¡4-5Ä2" or chinease text.

can you advise me how to do to resolve this problem?}

Hi,

Apologies for the delay in response.

data_coding = 8 needs to be set by the SMPP client. Otherwise it is not known that the SMPP data is Unicode format.

hi,

first of all, thank you for answring me.
in other words, it's not possible to send unicode text using SMPP server (from our client's plateform)?

Hi,

It is very possible. If the text is submitted using SMPP, the data_coding parameter in the SMPP request should be set to 8. This is how Unicode encoding is specified in SMPP.
