How do I get all replies to a specific number go back to the SMPP client that sent the SMS. I have tried a bunch of stuff but nothing seams to work. John

Hi John, Under the "SMS Users", edit the account for the SMPP client, and set the recipient addresses that should be routed to the SMPP client. -- Des NowSMS Support

When you say recipient address you mean the telephone number used to send out... correct.?

Yes, but... If you are using modems, then yes, it would be the telephone number used to send out. For other types of SMS connectivity, it may be more complicated. SMS messages have no attribute to distinguish a message as a reply to another message. When the SMPP client sends a message out, it will have a sender (source/originator) and recipient (destination). When the mobile user replies, normally the original sender and recipient will be swapped. But whether or not that happens depends on whether the original sender is valid for replies on the mobile network and/or whether an upstream SMSC is allowed to change it. -- Des NowSMS Support |
