Hello Nowsms experts,

I found good feature which U have:
"* SMS Gateway: Add configuration settings to disable message traffic for all or selected SMSC connections during "quiet hours". QuietHourStart specifies the hour during which the quiet period should start and QuietHourEnd specifies the hour at which the quiet period ends. Hours are expressed in 24 hour format. These settings can be added in the [SMSGW] section of SMSGW.INI to apply to all connections, or in an SMSC specific section to apply to a specific connection only."

How I can manage to adapt this feature by users? Because if one user wants to send all day night and another wants to have quiet hours so activation of this function on specific connection which is used by all users cut everybody.

Is there ideas how to use other features for this purpose? When one user wants to have stopped all sms sending during the night and other dont. All using same connection and cannot be separated from this one connection.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bogas,

I reviewed this with our team, and the way this feature is implemented, it effectively turns off the connection for those hours.

What you have described is a good idea, but It would be a major change to do this in an account specific manner.

One idea that came to my mind is creating a loopback SMPP connection, where NowSMS connects to itself via SMPP, and you force the client that wants SMS stopped at night via this connection with quiet hours assigned. The only problem is that traffic for clients routed via this loopback connection will count twice against outbound throughput.

If you need a quick solution, that's the best we can think of. I've put in an internal request to review if it is possible to make a change to not count the traffic twice in this scenario.
