hi, i have samsung sgh-x100 handset.i installed now sms gateway 5.51a but it was giving PDU error while adding the modem. so i downloaded n installed a patch.now app shows version as 5.51a-b20050310. the problem is even if i select class 0(flash) message is delivered as plain sms. i tried with sony ericsson-k500i it works fine.i can view flash sms on x100 hand set. please help me. uttam | |||

one more thing while adding my x100 it says i can only send text messages. but my sgh-x100 supports EMS. can u give me one small EMS example(hex code) to test my x100 | |||

Hi Uttam, If the NowSMS configuration program reports "Modem succesfully tested! Modem supports text messages only.", then this means that the GSM modem interface exposed by the modem only supports text messages. The phone itself may support binary messages, but its GSM modem interface does not. A Flash SMS is a text SMS message, but if the GSM modem interface only supports text messages, this text interface does not allow the DCS value to be specified. So basically, I don't think you're going to get any further with flash SMS and that particular phone as a modem. The modem would need to support SMS PDU mode (AT+CMGF=0), but it appears that the modem only supports text mode (AT+CMGF=1). -bn | |||
