Dear Bryce Norwood,

In the following post
http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/4520.ht ml

you have mentioned that Phones with Symbian OS wont support SMS recieving on GSM. Is there anyway to get around this problem and make the 2-way SMS work?? If so pls give me the appropriate link. Thank you

Unfortunately, there is no workaround currently available. Sybmian OS phones will not correctly receive SMS when acting as a GSM modem because Symbian OS itself runs concurrently and intercepts any incoming SMS automatically. There is known way to get a symbian phone to boot into modem-only mode due to the fact that the OS is required to manage components like bluetooth, IR etc. which connect the modem to, for example, a PC.

Until such a time as nokia release a workaround, which they probably won't, Symbian OS phones cannot receive messages in GSM modem mode.

I don't have anything to add to the response above. It is unfortunate that there is no way to disable the messaging application that is built into the Symbian OS.
