I innstalled NowSMS on a Windows 2003 Server machine. The SMS Gateway works but the web interface does not work. I get a "Service is not active" error each time I try to use the web interface. This does not happen with my Windows 2000 server or XP professional PC. Any help is appreciated.

Go to administrative tools, internet information service manager, on left panel, click on the computer, go to web service extensions, enable all the extensions.

There are certain security issues involved, but assuming its your personal computer and not a production server, they shouldn't be major issue.

I use NowSMS on a Windows 2003 server, so I can't imagine what the problem is.

Are you accessing the server under Terminal Server/Remote Desktop?

If so, the link "Now SMS Web Interface" that is added to the start menu will report an error that the "Service is not active".

But you can still access the web interface manually via the web browser. Just type "http://127.0.0.1:xxxx", where "xxxx" is the "Port number for web interface" that is configured on the "Web" page of the NowSMS configuration dialog.

P.S. - If you are referring to this being a problem under Terminal Server/Remote Desktop ... thanks for pointing it out, as we will be correcting this in the next release.
