My Requirement is simple :

We have J2ME application which is expecting the sms message on particular port no , so we are looking the sms aggregator who can push the message to our application which is running on mobile.
So please let me know if you support SMS sending on particular port no , so we can use your gateway .

Also i have gone through with following link , which is old post .please clarify if it is still valid & working .

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/2008.html

Also need to know what are SMSC we can target with nowsms for US & CANADA market , i am struggling for these details ?

Also let me know if u can provide some working sample which proves that nowsms supports messaging on port no.

Thanks in advance for helping me out .

Himanshu.

Hi Himanshu,

This is the best information that I have on the subject of SMS port addressing: http://www.nowsms.com/sms-port-number

Targeting US and Canada with this is difficult, however. (Especially if including CDMA operators such as Verizon and Sprint within your target.)

Most of the SMS providers are focused on the lowest possible cost and provide text only capabilities, with no support for binary attributes such as port addresses.

Modems can often work for sending messages to subscribers on the same mobile network as the modem, but the port numbers are usually lost when going to a different network.

In the past, I recall customers using OpenMarket as a provider that supports binary messaging in the USA, but I do not know the current status of that support.
