Hello, I would like to know what the requirements on hardware are to run a wap gateway with a 2000 simultaneous conn. license. Since our customer upgraded their license from 500 to 2000 this week, their server crashed twice with memory problems. The version they run is 5.51 Can you help me on this? Hope for a quick response. Thanks in advance. BR, Cécile

Hi Cécile, Do you mean v2.51? (v5.51 is a NowSMS version number.) I do recommend NowWAP v2.58 which is the current download from http://www.nowwap.com/. I don't think there have been any memory related problems resolved in recent versions, except a WTLS issue that was identified after v2.56. If you are running v2.51, that could be a problem. There were some significant memory utilisation improvements between v2.51 and v2.54. So I would like to confirm your version number, and suggest updating to the v2.58 version. Regarding system requirements, for that load, the system should have at least 1GB of memory ... and a Pentium compatible processor of at least 2Ghz (dual core and/or hyperthreading processors are a definite plus). I'm hoping that your version information is indicating v2.51 ... in which case an update will most likely resolve the problem due to improved memory utilisation techniques. -- Kent Williams Now Wireless Support

How can I download a WTLS version of 2.58? The demo version on the web site is without WTLS isn't it? (We have purchased the WTLS version). /Magnus

Hi Magnus, Give us a call at one of the contact numbers listed at the bottom of this page, and we will e-mail the update to you. (I overheard someone talking to Keith about this earlier today, so you might have already done this.) -- Kent Williams Now Wireless Support |
