Dear support

we tested today the request you made , but even though we reduced the max active session to five we keep have around a number of active sessions which reach our licence that often prevent other subscribers in the range we grant access to the wap to browse and send mms, is there anything we could apply in order to reduce this congestion that affect the node since weeks.

Maybe these clients are issuing requests using WAP1/WSP sessions. In this case, the client explicitly makes a connection to the gateway, and is expected to explicitly disconnect. These sessions are not timed out until 5 or 10 minutes by default (I do not recall which). Refer to the SessionTimeout setting in the documentation, which can be added to WAPGW.INI. Try dropping this value to 1 minute (but note that some old browsers may report connection errors if a user is browsing and idles for more than one minute before clicking on a link).

If this doesn't relieve the situation, please email your WAPGW-yyyymmdd.LOG file to nowsms@nowsms.com with Attention: DES in the subject line. This will help me understand if the session usage is legitimate, or is truly the result of sessions attempting to access restricted content.

P.S. - please also indicate your license size, and the approximate number of subscribers you are attempting to service. Is the gateway only for supporting MMS or also for some browsing?
