Hi, I am trying out the evaluation version of Now SMS Lite. My requirement is to receive photos via MMS and post them to a web-site. I verified that the SIM can receive an MMS message using an handset. The sim is a Vodafone Ireland SIM. It appears that the MMS is not received correctly. The following is an excerpt from the SMSDEBUG log. (see the DNS Lookup failed) Any ideas? 11:03:26:204 [5] ThreadProcessInboundSMS: SAR Segment Reference = 9530, Count = 2, Current = 1 11:03:26:206 [5] ThreadProcessInboundSMS: Processing complete 4E898698.in... 11:03:26:229 [15] ModemReceiveMessages: OK 11:04:13:532 [17] ThreadProcessInboundMMS: Processing A1291B48.Q... 11:04:13:533 [17] RetrieveURL: Retrieving http://promms/servlets/NO 11:04:13:533 [17] RetrieveURL: Looking up promms 11:04:25:099 [17] RetrieveURL: DNS Lookup failed for promms}

Hi Kevin, This suggests that the APN settings aren't configured in NowSMS. These are the settings under the "Send MMS Messages" section. Are you about to send MMS messages ok? What MMS settings do you have configured? Could I see the MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG from your system after one of these retrieval attempts? Assuming that you do have the APN settings configured, I can only guess that maybe there is an IP address conflict between your internal IP network and the operator IP network. Both usually use private IP address space and route via NATs, and there can sometimes be conflicts. MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG should tell me more about that. -- Des NowSMS Support

Thanks Des,I didn't configure the APN settings. I thought they were for outbound MMS only. Receiving OK now. |
