Hi Firsable , all my wishes for 2020 to all the nowsms team. we implement a new solution for the charging that use diameter. viewing deeply , the requested diameter is not on TCP port but on SCTP. Are you compliant with the diameter over signalling ? thanks before hand for your feedback , Br Marc

Hi Marc, Our understanding is that Diameter servers must support both SCTP and TCP. Diameter clients can support either SCTP or TCP. Being in the client role, we have not seen SCTP support to be a requirement. SCTP support is complicated by a lack of support for the protocol in the Windows OS. There is a freeware driver on Github, but it hasn't been updated in over 6 years, and it appears to be abandoned. -- Des NowSMS Support

Hi Des your understanding is correct. So if mine is correct , you cannot manage diameter over SCTP ? you should maybe think about a porting of the nowsms code on linux as there's linux kerner library provide ^^ ( http://lksctp.sourceforge.net/ linux kernel sctp ) Anyway i will have to deal with, and logically the new charging system will have to be compliant with the current architecture. Thanks for your quick feedback , Br Marc |
