Hello

We are testing version 2020.01.15.

During our tests we are sending an email with 3 jpg attachements and when we receive the MMS there is a problem:
It displays first one jpg attachement followed by the text and finally the 2 others attachements
Instead of text followed by the 3 attachements

Hi,

That is probably an artifact of automatic SMIL generation.

Try editing the MMSC.INI file, and under the [MMSC] header, add EMailAutoSmil=No

Please let me know whether or not this resolves the issue, because even if it resolves the issue, we may need to investigate this further.

Hi,

After tests, I confirm that adding EMailAutoSmil=No, the issue is resolved.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for confirming that.

I don't expect this setting to have any side effects, but we are going to run some tests and make a slight adjustment to the automatically generated SMIL formatting that is inserted when converting from e-mail.

SMIL is an old outdated markup language that formats MMS message components as a primitive slide show. It was significant to how MMS messages were displayed in early generation MMS capable phones. It is meaningless in the current Android/iPhone duopoly, except, as this experience points out, it can apparently override the ordering sequence of message objects.
