Currently, we have about 5000 phones that are programmed with the message center url http://mmsc/01. We would like to switch to the Now MMSC and not reprovision these phones. I know we could get them to resolve to something like http://166.1.1.1/01 where 166.1.1.1 is the ip address of the mmsc, but we still have the 01 to deal with. It does not seem to work with the 01. Is there anything we could do?

Thanks,
Joseph

Also, the mmsc would be using the NOW WAP gateway.

Hi Joseph,

I know we discussed this via e-mail, but I also wanted to confirm this here.

As long as NowWAP has a RADIUS feed, where it is getting the phone number from your access server automatically ... and then forwarding that phone number in the HTTP headers to the MMSC ... then this URL will be fine. The "01" will be ignored.

If that doesn't work, I believe there is also a way in NowWAP to perform a URL rewrite ...

It is interesting that I haven't been able to find any other details about this URL rewrite here in the discussion forum. But I know we have it setup on our internal use server ...

NowWAP will look for a file named URLREWRITE.TXT in its program directory. This file can contain a list of URLs that should be remapped ... for example, the following would be valid:

http://166.1.1.1/01=http://166.1.1.1/
