I'm trying to setup NowSMS to receive MMS messages. I'm using a Sierra AirCard 860. My problem is that I don't know what the VASP settings are. I believe that I would like receive the MMS messages using MM1, but I'm not really sure what I'm basing the decision on. How do I determine what the VASP settings are for my operator (Rogers in Canada)? I suppose I need to know the account name and the password. Is this something I can just phone my operator and they will be able to tell me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. | |||

If you are receiving messages using a modem, then the messages are received directly via the modem, not via an actual VASP interface. Under Properties for the Modem in the SMSC list, press the "MMS Settings" button to define the settings for your mobile operator. (You might also find the following thread helpful with information specific to the Aircard 850/860: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/19177.html) One other note of caution. If you purchased the modem with a subscription from your operator, in some cases the operator will provision the SIM card for a data-only account, and your account might not have MMS support. So as a sanity check, you might want to move the SIM card from the modem to a phone and verify that you can send/recieve MMS messages using the SIM card in a phone. |
