Hello,

When MMS is sent from MS to MS using a VASP account (with the "Standard Delivery" option), the sender address always shows the VASP account name.

Can't the receiving MS see the real sender's MSISDN?
I tried enabling "Overide Sender address", but result is the same...

Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,

That is not normal.

But I think your configuration is a bit unusual, has I had recommended that your MMS client connect in to NowSMS as a VASP ("MMSC VASP" list) instead of as a result user account ("MMSC Users" list).

When an MMS client submits a message to an MMSC, the submitted message does not include the MSISDN. Instead, the "Sender" field includes an indicator that the MMSC needs to insert the phone number.

For a regular "MMSC Users" account, we would use the "Phone Number" that is configured for the account. (Unless NowSMS was configured to receive the MSISDN from a WAP gateway getting a RADIUS feed.)

However, for an "MMSC VASP", you would need to configure a "VASP Sender Address", otherwise there would not be a sender address (and I think we would put in an unroutable "VASP:accountname" string).
