Hi i have to send (only for testing) one java application attached to MMS to one test phone (Nokia), i have downloaded free trial nowsms version, i have configured everything for dispatch mms on my operator MMSC. I can send mms to every phone My problem is: Can i send one MMS with the correct content type or other for autoplay the jar/jad application on the client phone? Is it possible to do? How can i do? Hi juniper, I don't think it is possible to auto-play a Java application within an MMS message. If it is possible, the secret would be in the SMIL. If you don't include a SMIL file as one of the content pieces within your MMS message, NowSMS will generate one automatically. The SMIL tag that NowSMS generates for a Java application is <ref src="appname.jar" region="Image">. This tag basically tells the receiving MMS client that there is an embedded object. But SMIL is pretty limited as a presentation language, and I don't think there is anyway to tell the client to automatically launch the object. (Some would argue that launching the application automatically would raise security concerns.) You might want to check any Nokia MMS references at forum.nokia.com that discuss SMIL to see if there are any other options ... but, unfortunately, I would be surprised if there were. -- Des NowSMS Support |
