I have been working on CDMA with using NowSMS as an MMSC. For some reason only one model phone works with receiving MMS messages, from web interface and other phones. I have tried to get an Android device CDMA phone to receive the message, but no luck.

Looking at Wire-shark the phone is responding to th request and receives a silent SMS, but never goes back to retrieve the message. Any ideas?

Hi Francisco,

Have you confirmed that the Android phones you are having trouble with can successfully send an MMS message to the working phone, even if they cannot retrieve? This is a good way to confirm that the MMS settings are configured correctly, as incorrect settings can also lead to silent ignoring of the message.

My next suspicion would be related to the length of the SMS message that is sent as the MMS notification, as CDMA environments tend to have issues with SMS message length (NowSMS expects the CDMA SMSC to perform any segmentation, whereas in GSM environments, NowSMS performs the segmentation of longer messages.). Try all five of the settings listed in the 1-5 list in the following article, as they are designed to shorten the size of the MMS notification:

The Android phones can send MMS to the working model phone. It is a old Samsung flip phone and it can receive the message from the Android.

I have tried the 5 steps and it still wont get the message.

I have also turned on adb debug on the Android and it shows that the sms is received.

Hmm....

I'm not sure what the issue could be. Are you using an HTTP interface with a simulator like described in that document, or are you using an SMPP account with WDP adaptation?

I am using a MSC that has an SMPP interface that takes care of the SMS portion and I use NowSMS for an MMSC. My MSC supports WDP adaptation.
